Overview
Tintypes is a musical revue that provides audiences a good look into the mirrored eyes of history. It is a musical about the immigrant experience of America from 1890 to 1917 when optimism and ingenuity ran high. The story, the history of America, is told through dozens of songs of that era. It features some old standards and spirituals from Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Grand Ole Flag, Toyland, Meet Me In St. Louis, In My Merry Oldsmobile, Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child, and Bill Bailey Won’t You Please Come Home. The growing pains of a nation are chronicled in this grand pageant of pre-World War I.
Tintypes will be performed during the Charleston Theater Festival (held June 20 through June 23 at the Guild Theatre). Click on the hyperlink above for more information on the theatrical event of the summer!
